Choose the Perfect Reception Menu with These Tips

February 21, 2018 | Posted in Events, Trends, Weddings

Once the ceremony is over,  your guests are looking for a great time and great food at your reception. As you can imagine, choosing the perfect foods for your guests can be one of the most difficult things to do. Fortunately, if you’re getting married at Versailles Ballroom in New Jersey, we have a number of menus and stations to make the selection easier. In the meantime, here are some suggestions on how to choose the perfect reception menu.

Put Dietary Considerations Firsts

At the top of the list, you must consider your guest’s dietary needs. If you are inviting people who have health conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure, have made lifestyle changes like going vegan, or who have certain religious beliefs that prevent the consumption of certain foods, you’ll want to make sure they’re taken care of. If you were inviting someone who is Jewish, for instance, you might consider a venue with options for Kosher meals for those guests, whereas someone who is vegan would definitely appreciate having their dietary needs considered.

Comfort Foods Always Win

Instead of going with high-expense food, like seafood, that some may be allergic to or that may go uneaten, comfort food is always a winner. Our wedding packages at Versailles include an array of comfort food options. From the Gourmet Mac N’ Cheese station to the Bacon Me Crazy station to the brand new The Stadium station, there is something that will bring everyone joy.

Don’t Forget to Taste it

What better way to know what you want your guests to eat than to have some yourself? Make sure to book your seat at one of the tasting events at Versailles Ballroom. Make sure to bring your fiance and a neutral party like a parent or sibling to get a diverse set of opinions. You might also ask your wedding coordinator or chef for recommendations on your proposed menu according to your tastes and budget.

Don’t Skimp on Dessert!

While all Versailles Ballroom wedding and mitzvah packages include wedding cake (or a scroll cake for mitzvahs) that is no excuse not to add more sweet treat options for your guests. The Perk Up Station includes fresh espresso, cappuccino, coffee, and flavored liqueurs to bring some pep in your step after a long day of partying. It doesn’t get any sweeter than the S’more Love station where your guests can roast, yes roast, their own gourmet marshmallows (in flavors like cookies and cream, mocha, mint, and strawberry) and combine them with luscious chocolate squares and crisp graham crackers. On the savory side, the brand new Carnival Confections Station combines all your favorite Jersey Shore Boardwalk favorites into one place: fried churros and Twinkies, zeppole with powdered sugar, soft pretzels with mustard and melted cheese, and a quintessential Snow Cone machine serving up 12 flavors of icy goodness. Ask about how you can add any of these mouth-watering desserts to your wedding or mitzvah package.

Choosing the right combination of food and beverages can take some time, but if you use these tips you’ll find the task a lot easier to manage. Also, don’t forget to rely on your wedding coordinator at Versailles Ballroom in New Jersey to help you with you make the smartest choices.
