2016’s Trendiest Wedding Color Schemes

January 26, 2016 | Posted in Trends, Weddings

A new year will no doubt bring plenty of new trends in the wedding planning world, including popular colors. From bridesmaids’ fashion and wedding décor to accents for your bouquet and ballroom lighting, color combinations play a big role. Brides-to-be, if you’re still in the beginning stages of imagining your dream day, take a look at some amazing, colorful looks from our Hotels Unlimited couples. Of course, the possibilities with colors are endless, but here are a few looks to inspire you.

Pantone’s Color of the Year. Two beautiful, soft shades of pink and blueish-purple, Rose Quartz and Serenity are the perfect blend of colors that we cannot wait to see incorporated in 2016 weddings. Plus, they pair perfectly with a variety of colors from shades of green, grey, yellow, and everything in-between! Visit Pantone.com for a list of lovely color pairings, and check out how our couples (and couples from our sister ballrooms) have used these two colors in years past.

Shades of mint were all the rage last year. What we love about this soft shade is that it’s beautiful with earth tones. For a soft, rustic look, this New Jersey couple paired mint with gray and added warm shades to their décor – like peach roses and spring green. Have a look at some photos below and see how it pulled together.

A bright bold blue complements many different colors. Perhaps it’s because it’s reminiscent of the Jersey Shore, but this is a hot color choice for many of our brides and grooms. This trendy shade works well with any spectrum of color: it pops against an ivory gown; matches pink, purple, and gray shades; and it really looks stunning as a backlight in any of our ballrooms. (Check out the LED lighting in the Versailles Ballroom at the Ramada Inn in Toms River, NJ. Remember, uplighting is offered as a special wedding enhancement at any of our New Jersey venues!)

Lavender is much more than just a springtime bloom. Soft purple hues are a unique departure from more traditional darker purples and plums. The color is elegant and when paired with the right hues, doesn’t have to look too feminine. Take a look at how our New Jersey couples made use of this color.
